• "I'm just like you (age, gender and situation). My partner is not interested at all, most current friends can't ski I just gave up trying to drag people along to the mountains. I'm worried meeting up on FB groups… just gotta dodge the thirsty creeps/weirdos”

  • “30F seeking new friends to camp in mostly California state parks, forests, dispersed wilderness areas (!!!), and national forests in other states in the future. I love being solo but socializing in small doses works for me too, just not in big groups. Many of the meet up groups are 40+ and while that’s amazing, I’d like to meet men and women who are 27-35 years old. Many are partnered or poly, I’m not trying to get down and dirty. Talking to people at established campsites, they are either Euros or Canadians. How are you finding people to camp with?”

  • “Is there a group of older hikers? In Northern Michigan, I’m 67, active but I don’t think I could keep up with the younger hikers. I love to hike and searching for other women who love to hike. My husband can’t always go, so I want to connect with people who are a little bit slower, as I am not always in a hurry”

  • The first time I did Half Dome, I was alone. I had passes for 4, but couldn’t find anyone to go with me. So decided to go alone. I hit the trail at 5:00AM. I enjoyed the peace and quiet, and I felt safe. I am a 38-year-old female at the time. I did make friends along the way, and we hiked down together.

  • So I recently got back from a two week rafting trip in the Grand Canyon and it made me realize that I want to get outdoors a lot more! I've been hiking and camping a lot in my life but would love to learn to fish/kayak and possibly rock climb. I tried looking up groups/events on meetup in the Bay Area but found it hard to find any with younger people in mind. I'm 28 so I'd love to meet more young people like myself that are into the outdoors since my current friend group isn't really into this. Any suggestions on some groups or sites where young people can meet up for outdoors stuff?
